Neuroradiology

When it comes to the central nervous system and brain, you need experts who are on the cutting edge of imaging. At RASF, we are pioneering new ways of imaging the brain and providing unparalleled neurologic care.

The Neuroradiology section of RASF is proudly comprised of physicians who are all fellowship trained in the imaging and diagnosis of diseases related to the head and neck, brain and spine. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques offered by RASF physicians include MRI, MR Angiography, MR Spectrosopy, MR Perfusion, Functional MRI, Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), Diffusion Tensor Tractography (DTT), as well as Quantitative and Qualitative Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF) Flow analysis. All MR imaging is performed on state-of-the-art High Field (1.5Tesla) or Ultra-High Field (3Tesla) strength systems for the best and most accurate imaging and diagnostic reliability.

Brain tumors are among the most difficult diagnoses a patient and family can endure. Imaging patients with brain tumors can be one of the most challenging and rewarding tasks a neuroradiologist faces. As treatments for these diseases change, so do their imaging manifestations. That is why RASF neuroradiologists routinely employ techniques such as MR perfusion on almost all brain tumor cases to differentiate between a recurrent tumor versus treatment-related effects such as radiation necrosis. A neuroradiologist is always available to speak with a patient regarding their results or concerns.

Computed Tomographic (CT) techniques offered include CT Imaging, CT Angiography (CTA) and CT Perfusion (CTP). All CT imaging is performed on the latest Multislice CT scanners using protocols specifically tailored for each body part and clinical diagnosis to ensure the highest quality imaging at the lowest possible radiation dose.

Our Neuroradiologists were among the first in the nation to implement CT Angiography and CT Perfusion on patients presenting with signs and symptoms of acute stroke- techniques that potentially impact acute stroke management and treatment options. Performing and interpreting these exams since 2001, our physicians have among the greatest experience and expertise in the field- something that truly matters when every second counts.

Back and neck pain is an unfortunately common ailment in our society. Whether the pain is from disc disease, tumor or infection, RASF fellowship trained physicians have the knowledge and understanding to make an accurate diagnosis so the patient can begin their road to treatment and recovery.
