Interventional Radiology

Dr. Gandhi is a board-certified radiologist with a subspecialty in vascular and interventional radiology, vascular medicine, and interventional oncology. He focuses on minimally invasive treatments for peripheral vascular disease, cancer, venous disease, and other conditions. He treats a diversity of medical conditions, including cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma/liver cancer, liver metastases, kidney cancer, lung cancer and other cancers), peripheral arterial disease (PAD), thoracic aortic aneurysms, abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), carotid artery disease, uterine fibroids (embolization), deep venous thrombosis (DVT), vertebral compression fractures, varicoceles, and varicose veins. 

Dr. Gandhi specializes in minimally invasive treatments for peripheral vascular disease, cancer, venous disease, and other conditions. 

Dr. Gandhi did his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and Harvard University. He graduated summa cum laude (highest honors). He received his degree in medicine from Northwestern University Medical School, where he also graduated with honors. Following medical school, he completed a surgical internship at Cornell University Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital.df He completed his residency training and fellowship at UCLA Medical Center. Currently, he is a n assistant clinical professor at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, University of South Florida, and Florida International University Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Gandhi regularly trains other physicians in various vascular/endovascular, interventional radiology, and interventional oncology techniques. 

Because of his interest in discovering new therapies, Dr. Gandhi also dedicated an entire year to biomedical research at the renowned Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. At Sloan-Kettering, he investigated liver chemoembolization and other minimally invasive therapies for liver cancer and other malignancies. He also served as a research fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He has published his findings in several scientific journals, including the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Journal of Vascular Surgery, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, Vascular Medicine, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, and the Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases. He has also authored several textbook chapters and presented his research at national and international meetings. 

Prior to joining Baptist Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute and Miami Cancer Institute as a part of Baptist Health South Florida, he was an international visiting scholar at Asan Medical Center/University of Ulsan Medical School in Seoul, South Korea. As an international scholar, he gave several lectures and furthered his expertise in innovative minimally invasive therapies. 

Dr. Gandhi is the recipient of multiple awards, including the American College of Physicians Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Performance in Medicine, America’s Best Physicians, America’s Most Honored Doctors, Compassionate Doctor Award, Leading Physicians of the World, and Top 100 Health Professionals Distinction Award.  In addition, he was recently honored with the Patients’ Choice Recognition Award, given to physicians most highly regarded by their patients. He is also a fellow of the Society for Vascular Medicine and a fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology 

He is the co-author of the textbook Interventional Oncology which was recently published.  In addition to being an expert in endovascular therapy and vascular disease, Dr. Gandhi is one of the interventional oncologists at Miami Cancer Institute and has an expertise in minimally invasive therapies for cancer. 

He is a program director for the International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET) and Symposium on Clinical Interventional Oncology (CIO).
