Dr. Leonardo Furtado Freitas has joined Radiology Associates of South Florida (RASF) as a member of the Neuroradiology section. He earned his medical degree from the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) in Brazil and completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Hospital do Servidor Público Estadual (IAMSPE), São Paulo, Brazil.
Following residency, Dr. Freitas pursued advanced subspecialty training in Neuroradiology, completing fellowships at Hospital BP – Medimagem, São Paulo, Brazil, and at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
Dr. Freitas is an accomplished neuroradiologist with over 10 years of experience in advanced neuroimaging. In addition to his clinical role at RASF and Baptist Health of South Florida, he serves as the Director of the Research and Mentorship Committee for the Florida International University (FIU) Radiology Residency Program, where he leads initiatives to advance academic development, research infrastructure, and resident mentorship.
He will play an important role as faculty in the upcoming Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program jointly sponsored by Baptist Health of South Florida and Florida International University, contributing his expertise in neuroradiology, research, and medical education.
