Jose Vargas attended medical school at Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil Facultad de Ciencias Médicas, Ecuador. He continued to complete his Radiology residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Connecticut where he held the title of Chief Resident. Following his Residency, he completed his Breast Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in New York.
