Dr. Rafael is an Associate Radiologist with Radiology Associates of South Florida. Dr. Rafael is an attending physician at Baptist Hospital of Miami, South Miami Hospital, Homestead Hospital and West Kendall Hospital. He currently works in the Emergency Radiology division of Radiology Associates of South Florida, primarily providing after-hour subspecialty image interpretation.

Dr. Rafael has conducted scholarly activity such as scientific research, case reports, poster presentations and educational exhibits, amongst other activity. He has presented his research activity at multiple national conferences and forums.

Dr. Rafael received his undergraduate degree from The University of Miami and his Medical Degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed an internship at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD followed by a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the North Shore LIJ Health System/Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine. Following residency training, Dr.Rafael completed a one-year fellowship training program in Emergency Radiology at Emory University School of Medicine.
