Dr. Sohn Williams graduated from Wellesley College (with honors), went onto Rutgers Medical School to receive her medical degree, and obtained her Diagnostic Radiology residency training at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson. She completed her Neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Florida and was Assistant Professor of Radiology. While at the University of Florida, she authored a number of peer-reviewed scientific papers, a medical textbook chapter, and received several research grants.
