After attending Grinnell College for an undergraduate degree, she pursued her study of medicine at the Western College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pomona, California where she graduated with Highest Honors in the top 3% of the class. 

Dr. Volokhina completed radiology residency at the Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she received multiple awards, including the Medical Knowledge Award for achieving the 96th national percentile score on the Radiology in Training Examination. Dr. Volokhina’ s strong interest in research resulted in multiple publications and presentations at both national and international meetings. She was twice a recipient of the Roentgen Resident Research Award for her accomplishments in radiology research.  

Dr. Volokhina completed her Musculoskeletal Radiology fellowship at the University of California San Diego, under the direction of Dr. Donald Resnick. The following nine years of full time employment at the private radiology groups gave her both breadth and depth of clinical radiology experience.
