Ann Podrasky, MD, FSRU, FAIUM received her medical degree and residency training in diagnostic radiology from the University of California in San Francisco. She served as a fellow at UCSF in Ultrasound and computed tomography. She also completed a fellowship in magnetic resonance imaging at Huntington Hospital. Dr. Podrasky has been RASF Section Chief of Ultrasound for over 30 years, working very closely her team to provide quality imaging and leading the growth of Ultrasound.
Dr. Podrasky has been elected as a Fellow in both the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. She is an Associate Professor of Radiology at FIU and an Adjunct Professor at Miami-Dade College Medical Campus. She is medical editor for a major textbook, Diagnostic Ultrasound: Abdomen and Pelvis and is a journal reviewer for the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, Ultrasound Quarterly and Abdominal Radiology. Dr. Podrasky has twice been recognized as Reviewer of the Year for the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine. She has been active on multiple national committees in her specialty and additionally served as an Oral Board examiner in Ultrasound for the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Podrasky has presented topics at numerous national and local Radiology conferences and has published several papers, including for the American College of Radiology Appropriateness Criteria for Women’s Imaging. Dr. Podrasky developed the Thyroid Ultrasound Clinic at Baptist Outpatient Center to promote excellence in thyroid diagnosis and thyroid cancer follow-up. She has strong interest in gynecologic and abdominal ultrasound, including for surveillance of the liver in high-risk patients and liver elastography. She is also dedicated to providing excellent thyroid, gynecologic and abdominal Ultrasound imaging for the Miami Cancer Institute. She further implemented the first Contrast-enhanced Ultrasound program in Florida. Additionally, Dr. Podrasky initiated a team of our radiologists with expertise in fetal MRI. Dedication and compassion are her guiding principles in providing care to patients in the Ultrasound department.
